It’s a VUCA world (volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous) and traditional organizational structures are simply not effective enough to navigate everything that is happening. Put simply, top-down, directive, command-and-control, hierarchical structure is not sufficient in rapidly changing and complex environments. What is needed are organizations that can flex and adapt to the shifting needs of their customers.
