About the Instructor(s)
Stephen McCormick
Steve McCormick brings a wealth of Agile knowledge and consulting skill to every course that he teaches. Having worked in manufacturing industry, Steve is familiar with the Toyota Lean Manufacturing environment . The roots of many of the artifacts in Agile Software Development can be traced to this source. More recently, Steve has coached a number of clients both entrepreneurial private sector organisations and Governmental organisations to adopt an Agile based approach. The North American favorite technique seems to be Scrum and one of the biggest challenges with its adoption is the change in roles. The executive instead of receiving reports are now given access the the Scrum Board which provides information on the tasks in hand and is updated daily. Project Management remains much as before but the project manager role has now been split between a supercharged business manager (the product owner), the scrum master undertaking impediment removal on behalf of the development team and the cross functional development team responsible for their own day to day management.
During the course, Steve will encourage questions so that the information provided can be tuned to better suite the work environment of the attendees.
